Teaching children about emotions will both help them express their own feelings and respond to the emotions of others in an appropriate way. This resource provides an opportunity for schools to create an ethos that is open, welcoming and supportive. It is also an opportunity for the school to establish itself as a safe place for pupils.

Pupils will be encouraged to talk about and explore feelings and emotions, with a particular emphasis on the ways in which these feelings and emotions can be expressed safely and respectfully.
